Super Six World Boxing Classic Finals Froch V Ward

On Saturday December 17, 11 Carl Froch and Andre Ward faceoff in the final of the WBC Super Six Middleweight Tournament, to crown a winner. The fight may go down as one of the biggest in the sports betting industry, as current IBF Middleweight Champion Lucian Bute has called out the winner of the tournament. We are three weeks away from the final taking place; here is a preview of this historic matchup.

Carl Froch is from the United Kingdom and owns an overall record of 28 and one with 20 knockout victories, Andre Ward is a former Olympic boxer turned professional boxer and has yet to lose a fight in 24 contests, which included 13 knockouts. When the duo meet in the bookie software squared circle, they will be fighting in a unification bout for Froch’s WBC Belt, Ward’s WBA Belt, the Super Six Trophy, and the Ring Magazine World Championship. Not only is this fight important on the grand scale of the boxing state, but it is also significant historically.

Theoretically, with Showtime beginning to draw better fighters to their network, the winner of Froch v Ward could become the poster boy for the network. On the other hand, this fight could be a complete bust as has been the case with many boxing matches of late, hence why fans are going to the UFC. However, for the reason that Showtime has invested a ton of money into the Super Six tournament, the finals can literally make or break the company.

Looking at the Super Middleweight division, this fight can go one of two ways historically. Firstly, this fight could become a fight of the decade, as both Froch and Ward have the ability to put on a good show for the fans. Conversely, Froch and Ward could receive a free pass from the boxing diehards, as the Joe Calzaghe v Mikkel Kessler fight from 2007 was an absolute war, that is a tough act to follow.
