Klitschko-Peter Preview

It appeared as though the mega sports betting fight between Wladimir Klitschko and the undefeated Alexander Povetkin was finally going to take place, with both fighters signing on to compete this September. However, Povetkin failed to show for his press conference, violating the terms of the contract they signed, and the event fell through. Taking his place against Klitschko will be Samuel Peter. Known as the “Nigerian Nightmare”, Peter clashed with Klitschko back in 2005, when Peter was undefeated and a rising star in the sport. Despite knocking the Russian heavyweight on to his back three times throughout the fight, Peter wasn’t able to keep Klitschko down for the ten count, and everntually lost via judge’s decision.

That fight must have provided Klitschko with some sort of boxing betting incentive as the heavy-handed hitter has not lost a fight since, and although this shapes up as a chance for Peter to get some revenge and finish what he started years ago, he will not be taking on the same opponent he nearly beat the first time. Klitschko is the better fighter, and over the years has proven that his conditioning is much better than it was when the two hooked up for the first time. Look for the champion to roll with his left jab-right hook combo and take down an opponent that he has beaten before while performing at a much lower level than he is at now.more…
